Title: Motion presented by Councillor McKenna as amended by Councillors Guarino-Sawaya and Mercurio: That the Mayor be requested to support and coordinate the City of Revere's efforts to obtain aircraft-noise mitigation for Beachmont Veterans Memorial School through the City of Revere Aviation Impact Mitigation Initiative presently being advanced through the Massport Community Advisory Committee (MCAC) by Revere's MCAC liaison representative. The City shall request that Beachmont Veterans Memorial School be treated as a priority community mitigation project and that Massport undertake a current acoustical assessment of the school, including an evaluation of the existing windows, doors, building envelope, ventilation systems and other relevant sound-mitigation measures, and determine whether renewed or additional sound-insulation improvements, including replacement acoustical windows where appropriate, are warranted. Motion presented by Councillor McKenna as amended by Councillors Guarino-Sawaya and Mercurio:  That the Mayor be requested to support and coordinate the City of Revere's efforts to obtain aircraft-noise mitigation for Beachmont Veterans Memorial School through the City of Revere Aviation Impact Mitigation Initiative presently being advanced through the Massport Community Advisory Committee (MCAC) by Revere's MCAC liaison representative.  The City shall request that Beachmont Veterans Memorial School be treated as a priority community mitigation project and that Massport undertake a current acoustical assessment of the school, including an evaluation of the existing windows, doors, building envelope, ventilation systems and other relevant sound-mitigation measures, and determine whether renewed or additional sound-insulation improvements, including replacement acoustical windows where appropriate, are warranted.  The Mayor is further requested to work cooperatively with the City's MCAC liaison representative, Massport, MCAC and other appropriate agencies to identify available Massport, FAA, state or federal mitigation funding and to support coordinated consideration of Beachmont Veterans Memorial School within the broader Revere Aviation Impact Mitigation Initiative.  In order to promote a coordinated and effective mitigation effort and avoid duplicative or competing requests, the City's initial efforts concerning Beachmont Veteras Memorial School shall be advanced through the existing MCAC initiative rather than as a separate Massport mitigation request.  The Mayor may seek the assistance of Revere's state and federal legislative delegation, as necessary, to support, advance or supplement the coordinated mitigation effort.  The Mayor is further requested to provide the City's support for consideration of the Revere Aviation Impact Mitigation Initiative by the MCAC Executive Committee and for any subsequent MCAC, Massport or FAA technical review arising from that initiative.
